Our ports on a silver platter

First learned about in a friend's blog, it seemed absolutely ludicrous to me that a company (Dubai Ports World) in the UAE would be allowed to take over 6 American ports as part of some corporate sale. The security risks appear obvious, but it seems the good ol' Bush administration wants to keep relations or appearances up, considering Bush's new position on America's "oil addiction". Thankfully, many representatives, senators and the governors of NY and Maryland are trying to stop this deal from coming to fruition. Both governors went so far as to indicate that they may try to cancel lease arrangements at ports in their states because of the DP World takeover.
