What the !@#$%?

Last night at about 5am, I woke from a dead sleep because I felt something very strange...a rumbling. I thought that maybe I was still dreaming and that in my dream there was an earthquake. But alas, no. Suddenly, I became aware of the loudest, most violent thunderstorm I may have ever heard or seen (or felt)! All of the windows in my apartment were closed with the a.c. on so when I went to look out, the glass was all fogged up and the screens were soaked. I fell back asleep, knowing I had to get up in 3 hours.

Thank goodness I listen to the radio in the morning, so I knew that the subway was a mess. When I checked the MTA's website for delay information, it seemed that my trains were running and if I just left early enough I'd be alright. Luckily, I ran into a neighbor as I was locking my door who asked if I was headed into the city. When I said I was, she quickly informed me that I couldn't get there, none of the trains were running and the buses were basically worthless! She'd decided not to go into work. Thanks so much to the MTA for their up-to-date info...ha ha ha!

After speaking with 2 friends, I then found out we'd had a tornado in Brooklyn, IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!

And now to top it all off, I'm going to see the Beastie Boys in Central Park tonight which will most likely be like taking a steaming mud bath - if I can even get there. Woo hoo!
